The Challenge of Leadership
The Challenge of Leadership
How do you lead your teams to deal with increasing competition and a fast-changing economic climate? Discontinuous changes and high uncertainty call for an enhanced sense of meaningfulness for the whole organisation. They mean leaders must make sure employees understand changes are part of a larger picture that stretches beyond the organisation.
During the programme, you will:
- learn practical skills to improve your personal power and become more aware of and effective in your leadership styles
- become more aware of how you engage others and develop more skilful approaches
- be able to consider all perspectives and connect different points of view
- explore and discover how you can further evolve your leadership repertoire to be even more effective in challenging situations.
The programme The Challenge of Leadership is also a component of the Advanced Management and Leadership Programme.
The Challenge of Leadership is a module of RSM’s Advanced Management and Leadership Programme (AMLP), but can also be followed separately. The intensive modular management programme will sharpen your critical thinking skills and enable you to enhance your impact as a leader.
You will benefit from the programme if you are a manager or professional with a minimum of seven years’ of experience in a leadership role and are looking for pragmatic and powerful ways to broaden and deepen your impact and contribution. You’re leading a department or division within your company, you’re managing other managers.
If you have some experience in managing teams, are new to managing teams or interested in team dynamics, please take a look at our Team Leadership programme.
Participants will learn as much from each other as from the faculty. To ensure a diverse and high-quality group, all applicants to the programme will be required to undergo a short intake discussion with an RSM staff member. This way we can guarantee that the programme is suitable for you. You should comply with the following requirements if you wish to take part in The Challenge of Leadership programme:
- You have a minimum of 5 years of managerial experience
- You have budget responsibility and have financial impact in your organisation
- You have responsibility in the strategic decision-making process in your organisation.
Your application will be final once we have informed you on the basis of the intake call that your application has been accepted.
“RSM’s The Challenge of Leadership taught me how to reflect on my behaviour in stress situations. The programme is an inspirational and challenging way to learn current management theories, and to understand yourself better. There’s a variety of theory and practice. With the professional guidance of a coach and a professor, I learned inspiring ways of looking at my own management style. For me this was really an eye-opener.”

Eline Peeters is a senior trainer and executive coach with a broad expertise in the fields of leadership, personal effectiveness and communication.
