Strengthen your capability to improve and sustain innovation during the three-day ‘The Essentials of Innovation Leadership’ programme by the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship. You will develop the capability to assess and build effective entrepreneurial teams, set innovation goals and fitting processes, and get the most out of techniques such as lean start-up and design thinking in corporate settings.
Our top academics and industry-leading innovation professionals such as DSM and ING will teach you the latest hands-on insights in corporate innovation and entrepreneurship. This programme supports you in elevating innovation within your organisation with a specific focus on using its innovation structure and culture. The programme includes the development of your personal leadership and development skills to innovate yourself as well as supporting others as they learn how to innovate.
The Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship develops people’s entrepreneurial competences using the academic knowledge and network of Erasmus University Rotterdam. During the programme of Essentials of Corporate Entrepreneurship, you will:
- gain skills in how to assess and build effective entrepreneurial teams
- learn how to set innovation goals and fitting processes, and to get the most out of techniques such as lean startup and design thinking
- develop the understanding and the capability to create urgency and a social movement for innovation, i.e. to involve, engage and excite others
- develop the capability to facilitate cultural change and influence senior leadership behaviour.
The Essentials of Innovation Leadership programme, The Essentials of Innovation for Governments programme, and the Leading Innovation Excellence programme, are offered by the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship. Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship is fuelled by their belief that entrepreneurship is the primary driver for innovation an strive to embed entrepreneurship in the DNA of people.
The Essentials of Corporate Entrepreneurship is a dynamic mix of masterclasses, personal training, real-life business cases and learning how to master the use of the latest innovation tools and techniques so you can drive innovation in your organisation. This three-day programme will focus on the following innovation topics:
- Human Resources
Every organisation’s most important resource for innovation is its people so we will explore Human Resources in depth.
Excellent innovation requires systematic processes and governance systems to guide individual projects and portfolio projects, so you can move beyond ad hoc projects.
A sustainable innovation competence requires organisational cultures based on innovation and entrepreneurship values.
The Essentials of Corporate Entrepreneurship programme is for corporate professionals who wish to strengthen their capability to improve and sustain innovation within their organisations.

Top academics from RSM and international partner universities are brought together to lead this programme, which has been developed by the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship in collaboration with industry-leading innovation professionals from organisations such as DSM and ING. These professionals will also act as facilitators during the programme.
Prof. dr Justin Jansen
Justin Jansen is professor of corporate entrepreneurship at RSM. His award-winning research and publications provide new perspectives into the roles of leadership, start-ups, organisational ambidexterity, corporate entrepreneurship, and new developments to improve long-term viability and performance. Justin is scientific director of the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, and is on the editorial board of several academic publications. He is also a consultant, speaker, and advisor to various companies and government agencies. He has developed management training in how organisations can identify and implement new growth paths, strategic leadership, and combine innovation and operational excellence.
Dr Ferdinand Jaspers
Ferdinand Jaspers is programme director at the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship. His teaching and consultancy activities focus on innovation leadership. Based on his expertise at the intersection of strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship, he teaches courses, masterclasses and boot camps on corporate entrepreneurship, innovation excellence and entrepreneurial culture. With a rigorous academic perspective, Ferdinand helps entrepreneurs move beyond approaches such as lean start-up, design thinking, business modelling and effectuation. Together with experts from DSM and ING, Ferdinand founded the ECE Innovation Leadership executive programme. He holds a PhD from RSM.
Prof. dr Tom Mom
Tom Mom is professor of strategic growth and implementation at RSM, and academic director of RSM’s Executive MBA programme. His expertise is at the crossroads of strategic management and entrepreneurship, and includes strategic renewal, strategy execution, scale-ups, and ambidexterity. In addition to research, he teaches strategic management and entrepreneurship in RSM’s executive education, PhD and MBA programmes, and carries out advisory projects on strategic renewal for companies and governments plus new business development, strategic growth, scaling-up, and strategy implementation. His research has appeared in leading academic journals and managerial journals.

There’s no selection procedure for this programme. The only requirement is that you work in a role that is related to innovation management for a larger corporate organisation (one with more than 500 employees).
The Essentials of Corporate Entrepreneurship is taught in English, and is delivered on three consecutive days at the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship in the centre of Rotterdam.
Sessions start at 09:00, but you can join us each morning from 08:30 for a light breakfast. The day ends at 17:30. The programme has one day with a late finish at 20:00, which includes dinner.
€ 3,500 (excl. VAT) for the three-day programme, which includes the ECE Corporate Entrepreneurship Scan, all course materials, refreshments, lunches and one group dinner.
