Description

A roundup of recent research on leadership and management from across the UK and internationally.Traditionally, stretch goals aim to inspire higher levels of commitment and fresh ideas, and lead to radical outcomes. But Dr Saeedeh Ahmadi of Amsterdam Business School, Professor Justin Jansen of the RSM, Erasmus University, and Professor JP Eggers of New York University, found that stretch goals do not help employees decide which ideas are best to follow and may encourage focus on irrelevant activities if not well deployed. The research found stretch goals are most effective for experienced employees.
