I do not have a bachelor or undergraduate degree in Business Administration, but I do have a degree from a research university, can I still apply for the Master of Science in programmes at RSM?

Yes, students who have a bachelor degree from a research university in a subject other than business administration may apply for our MSc programmes as long as they have taken a sufficient number of required courses during their bachelor programme. The course requirements are different for each MSc programme and are listed in the admission requirements table for each MSc programme.

Students with a bachelor degree from a research university who do not have a sufficient number of required courses may apply to our Master in Management programme which has been specially designed for students with a bachelor degree in any discipline other than business.

How and where can I obtain a certified copy of my diploma and transcripts?

A certified copy of your diploma and transcript can be acquired at the institution where you obtained the diploma or at a notary. Certified means that the photocopy of the original diploma/transcript, needs to be stamped and signed by your institution (director, course coordinator, registrar) or notary. When making your offer unconditional, make sure you send us the original document or certified hard copy. Photocopies and scans will not be accepted because their authenticity cannot be verified.

What is the difference between a conditional and unconditional offer

A conditional offer of admission means that you still need to do something before you will be allowed to start your studies at RSM. For the vast majority of our applicants, this means that you need to bring or send either certified hard copies or originals of your diploma(s) and final academic transcript. Once all of the conditions in your offer of admission have been met, your offer will become unconditional and you may officially enroll in the programme.

Many of our applicants ask why we require certified hard copies or originals of their diploma(s) and academic transcripts when we already have digital copies. RSM requires official hard copies because digital documents are easier to forge and are therefore not legal documents.

How do I make my offer unconditional?

If you receive an offer of admission it will always be conditional until you have sent either original or certified hard copies of both your bachelor diploma and final academic transcript to the RSM Admissions Office.

The digital copies of these documents that you uploaded with your online application are not legal documents and cannot be used to make your offer unconditional.  All of the conditions listed in your letter of admission and must be fulfilled before you are allowed to begin your master’s programme.

A conditional offer is an official offer. However if you fail to meet any of the conditions listed by August 31st, your offer of admission will be withdrawn. Please be aware that the admissions office cannot complete your enrolment until your offer of admission has been made unconditional.

If you have completed all requirements for your bachelor degree by the 31st of August, but your official diploma has not yet been issued, you can submit an official statement from your university which verifies that you have indeed completed your bachelor programme. We also need a certified copy of your final grade list. The statement should clearly state that you have fulfilled all requirements for your bachelor programme and that your diploma will be issued at a later date.

Please send all documents listed as conditions in your admissions statement to the following address:

RSM MSc Admissions Office

Burgemeester Oudlaan 50, Mandeville Building T05-01

3062 PA Rotterdam

The Netherlands

You can also bring the documents to the above mentioned address in person.

RSM will save your diploma for one year. It is your responsibility to pick up these documents from the admissions office. The admissions office makes scanned copies of all documents for our digital archive and shreds all paper copies that have not been picked up on time.

Is there a special admission process for refugee students?

No, RSM does not have a special admissions process or criteria for students with refugee status because individual situations can vary widely. Applications from refugees will therefore be assessed on an individual basis. If you have questions regarding your diploma, please contact the RSM admissions office.

The Erasmus University does offer general support for refugees. Please visit the refugee pages for more information.

The Nuffic has created a special online tool to help refugee students navigate the Dutch higher education system.

How to make my offer of unconditional - Diploma holders from Erasmus University

If your offer of admission is based on a diploma acquired from the Erasmus University, the process of making your offer unconditional is different than for 'external students'.

You do not have to send hardcopies your diploma or transcript to the RSM MSc Admissions Office, but instead we will verify your diploma via the Osiris system or directly with your faculty.

This can only be done if you have completed all the requirements of your bachelor by the 31st of August, and this has been marked in Osiris.

Once your diploma has been verified, you will receive a confirmation email from the admissions office. We will also notify you if we have not been able to verify your graduation and the deadline is approaching.
