Can I apply with an institutional TOEFL (ITP) test / TOEFL ITP® Plus for China?

Generall speaking RSM does not accepted the TOEFL ITP for admission to our MSc programmes. The reason for this is that this type of exam does not include a verbal part.

RSM does however temporarily accept the TOEFL ITP® Plus for China. Students who have taken this test, will be required to take a additional verbal test via the Erasmus University Language & Training Center.

Can I submit my proof of English proficiency or GMAT results after I have applied?

All relevant information such as your proof of English proficiency and your GMAT results (if applicable) must be available to RSM by the application deadline, or before the programme has reached maximum capacity (whichever occurs first). Can RSM verify my TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge results online?

Yes, RSM can check your TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge results online. However, the RSM Admissions Office can only do this if you upload a copy of your score report in your application:

TOEFL: The institutional code of RSM is 0798 and for Erasmus University 7199 (you can use either). If you have not requested for the score report to be sent to RSM, we can still verify the score directly with TOEFL. Note that the scores can only be verified 2 years from the test date. If your test is older than this, please contact us.

IELTS: In order to verify your IELTS score, RSM needs the code which is written on the bottom right corner of your test report. Always upload your full score report during the application process.

Cambridge: In order for RSM to verify your Cambridge score, you need to add your Cambridge candidate ID number and secret number to your application with your score report. By sharing this information, you give us permission to verify the result. If you do not have the candidate ID and secret number, you must contact the authorized examination centre where the examination was originally taken. Cambridge tests taken before 2005 can not be verified.

Note: it is sufficient to upload your score report and follow the instructions mentioned above. It is not needed for TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge to send us your English certificate by postal mail.

Do I have to follow a premaster programme?

Applicants with a bachelor degree obtained at an accredited University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands (HBO), Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland are required to follow a pre-master programme at RSM before entering the MSc programmes.

RSM's premaster programmes are open to students from any discipline. After submitting an application for a premaster programme, RSM will evaluate the application and indicate which Master programmes are possible to progress to after successful completion of the premaster.

Applicants with a non-business related bachelor are only admissable to the following Master programmes: Master in Management (full-time and part-time). Accounting & Financial Management, and Business Analytics & Management.

Students with a bachelor from a Research University can in some cases follow a premaster programme if they did not obtain 20 EC in qualitative and quantatitive methods and statistics, of which at least 10 EC have to be in quantitative research methods or statistics. We advise you to always apply for the master first, and during the evaluation we can see wether a premaster is an option for you.
