Selection criteria

1. Eligibility

All applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a research university that is comparable in level and content with a Bachelor of (International) Business Administration at RSM. Applicants who possess a university degree from a Dutch university of applied science (HBO) must first complete the RSM pre-master before starting the International Management/CEMS programme (see for more details). Students with a bachelor degree from outside the Netherlands are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of €100.


2. Grade point average

Applicants are expected to have obtained a GPA that is equivalent to at least a 7 out of 10 in the Dutch education system, which is considered to be above average. Grade point averages can be expressed differently in other education systems. Examples of acceptable GPA’s can be found on the RSM website.



Submission of a GMAT score is mandatory for most applicants. Applications without a valid and/or sufficient GMAT score will not be considered for admission to IM/CEMS. For full details, please see the Admissions and Recruitment Office's page on GMAT score requirements for RSM's master programmes.


3. Language proficiency 

Students must have proven proficiency in two languages in addition to English. Therefore, upon application, students must submit test results for two foreign languages. For more information, please click here.


4. Motivation and Suitability

In the online application form (OLAF) you will be asked 4 questions regarding your motivation. You also have the opportunity to add letters of recommendation, but these are not a required.
