Application Procedure

What is an admissions statement and where can I find it?

An admissions statement is an official document which summarizes which programme you've been admitted to, which diploma the admissions is based on and which conditions you need to fulfil before you can be enrolled as a student. As long as the conditions are not fulfilled, your offer remains conditional.

You can download your admissions statement via the Online Application Form (OLAF). In the top menu bar, go to the section called 'OFFER' and download the PDF file.

I have submitted my application but I have not received a confirmation email, did something go wrong?

Within two weeks after you have submitted your application form in OLAF, the RSM Admissions Office will let you know if your application is complete. Bear in mind that we receive a large number of applications towards the application deadline; therefore it may take longer than two weeks before you receive a confirmation e-mail. Only complete applications will be considered for admission. For this reason we urge that you do not wait until the last minute to submit your application. If you wait until the last minute, you will have no margin for error. If you apply early (at least 4 weeks before the deadline), some mistakes can still be corrected.

How do I make my offer unconditional? - Diploma holders from another university

If you receive an offer of admission it will always be conditional until you have sent either original or certified hard copies of both your bachelor diploma and final academic transcript to the RSM Admissions Office.

The digital copies of these documents that you uploaded with your online application are not legal documents and cannot be used to make your offer unconditional.  All of the conditions listed in your letter of admission and must be fulfilled before you are allowed to begin your master’s programme.

A conditional offer is an official offer. However if you fail to meet any of the conditions listed by August 31st, your offer of admission will be withdrawn. Please be aware that the admissions office cannot complete your enrolment until your offer of admission has been made unconditional.

No official diploma yet?

If you have completed all requirements for your bachelor degree by the 31st of August, but your official diploma has not yet been issued, you can submit an official graduation statement from your university. The statement should be signed and stamped by the educational institution and verify that you have indeed completed your bachelor programme. We also need a certified copy of your final grade list. The statement should clearly state that you have fulfilled all requirements for your bachelor programme and that your diploma will be issued at a later date.

Please send all documents listed as conditions in your admissions statement to the following address:

RSM MSc Admissions Office

Burgemeester Oudlaan 50, Mandeville Building T05-01

3062 PA Rotterdam

The Netherlands

You can also bring the documents to the above mentioned address in person.

RSM will save your diploma for one year. It is your responsibility to pick up these documents from the admissions office. The admissions office makes scanned copies of all documents for our digital archive and shreds all paper copies that have not been picked up on time.

Students with admission based on a study completed at Erasmus University Rotterdam are not required to provide this documentation, as the completion of your study can be checked in Osiris. However you must make sure that you have completed all the requirements of the study and have requested your diploma on time. RSM will notify you once the completion of your study has been verified.

Can RSM verify my TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge results online?

Yes, RSM can check your TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge results online. However, the RSM Admissions Office can only do this if you upload a copy of your score report in your application:

TOEFL: The institutional code of RSM is 0798 and for Erasmus University 7199 (you can use either). If you have not requested for the score report to be sent to RSM, we can still verify the score directly with TOEFL. Note that the scores can only be verified 2 years from the test date. If your test is older than this, please contact us.

IELTS: In order to verify your IELTS score, RSM needs the code which is written on the bottom right corner of your test report. Always upload your full score report during the application process.

Cambridge: In order for RSM to verify your Cambridge score, you need to add your Cambridge candidate ID number and secret number to your application with your score report. By sharing this information, you give us permission to verify the result. If you do not have the candidate ID and secret number, you must contact the authorized examination centre where the examination was originally taken. Cambridge tests taken before 2005 can not be verified.

Note: it is sufficient to upload your score report and follow the instructions mentioned above. It is not needed for TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge to send us your English certificate by postal mail.
