Deadline Extension

Deadline Extension

Dear EMBA applicant,

We are very happy to see that you are well on your way in the process of applying to our Executive MBA Programme commencing in January 2009.

It will not have escaped your notice that the deadline for applying to the Programme is this coming Monday, 8 December 2008.

We are writing to you at this time to encourage you to continue with your application as we will accept late applications after the deadline. However, we feel we should inform you of a number of issues that may affect you should you not be able to submit your application on or before the deadline.

First of all, as you may know, we do not evaluate applications until we have received them complete. Therefore, matters such as authorised copies of your diploma’s or referee letters that may still be in the pipeline must be received before we can evaluate your application. The longer it takes for us to receive these, the less likely it will be that we can turn around your application and, if you are successful in getting through the first evaluation, make an appointment to interview you before the Christmas vacation. We will endeavour to do all we can to speed up the process, and any late application that is completed and successful in first evaluation by 12 December 2008 should be able to be processed and an interview arranged before Christmas. This will probably not be possible for any late application received after this date, but interviews can be arranged for the first two weeks of January giving you the opportunity, if successful, to still start with the EMBA classes that commence on 17 January 2009.

Due to the Erasmus University Campus being closed from 24 December 2008 to 5 January 2009, we will not be able to process any applications received during that period. We will do all in our power to process these applications in the week from 5 January but regrettably it may not be possible to complete the process in order for you to start the programme in January.

Finally, the above information may also have an effect on your financial planning for the programme. If you are expecting to be able receive a tax rebate (in the Netherlands) for the tuition fee you must have paid the registration fee and first instalment before the end of the year. Unfortunately we will not be able to backdate any acceptance letter or invoice in the New Year if you have not completed the full application process and received an offer of admission by 24 December 2008. If you are not able to complete the process before this date, then you will lose the opportunity to apply for a tax rebate over this amount in your 2008 tax return forms. Furthermore, we are also not in a position to postpone your payment obligations.

All of the above may sound rather complex and daunting. However, we feel that it is our responsibility to assist you as much as possible in your EMBA application and our strongest advice would be to complete your application within the next week to 10 days.

Naturally we are always at your service if you wish to discuss the above in person. Please don’t hesitate to contact us either by phone or email Maria Rosa Parra at +31 10 408 8662 or

We look forward to receiving your application in due course and hope that we can assist in a smooth transition to your EMBA acceptance.

Kind regards,

MBA Marketing & Admissions Team
