Business Information Management (BIM) explores the use and impact of information ‒ and information systems ‒ as a strategic asset for customers, firms, supply chains, business networks, and markets. It investigates the opportunities presented by new information technologies such as mobile platforms, cloud computing, business analytics and social media. At Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM), BIM is part of the teaching and research activities in the Technology and Operations Management department.
The Business Information Management (BIM) section includes an interdisciplinary team of scholars and teachers of around 40 members from 20 different countries. We are passionate about researching and teaching the impact of digital technologies on individuals, organizations, and society. We carry out world-class research in many important areas such as artificial intelligence, digital business, online platforms, digital innovations, digital privacy, ethics of AI, cyber security, fintech, tech entrepreneurs, and smart cities. We perform cutting-edge teaching across all degree and non-degree educational programs to prepare students from around the world to make huge impacts through technology.
