How do governments manage their partnerships? What strategies do they have to enter into partnerships? What kind of policies do they develop to introduce/regulate partnerships in a specific context? These are key questions related to partnership portfolio management of governments and need to be addressed in order to be able to advice governments on their partnership portfolio management. When we speak about “governments” we distinguish three categories:
- Country governments
- Bilateral donor organisations;
- Multilateral donor organisations
We are interested to explore whether there are different rationales and management styles for their partnership portfolios. In addition we will investigate whether we can explain specific partnership features by the country’s organisation of governmental institutions.
The Partnerships Resource Centre aims at helping governments around the world to effectively manage cross sector partnerships to contribute to sustainable development.
