Free masterclass for HR professionals: building organisations of the future

People now live and work longer than ever before, so businesses face opportunities as well as challenges when it comes to the health, wellbeing and performance of their employees. Two researchers from the Erasmus Centre for Human Resource Excellence at Rotterdam School of Management Erasmus University (RSM) have worked on the development of a masterclass for experienced HR professionals and managers, to help businesses to build a sustainable workforce for an ageing population. The workshop on 13-14 November 2017 in Rotterdam is free of charge, but registration before 23 October 2017 is essential.

The workshop, Building organisations of the future: effective strategies for healthy and ageing workplaces is aimed at experienced HR professionals, senior managers and policy makers, and a full programme will be announced later this month. Participants will apply a design-thinking methodology and cutting-edge academic evidence to develop an action plan for building a sustainable organisation for the future.

Prof Dirk van Dierendonck and Dr Rebecca Hewett have developed the workshop, in partnership with colleagues from Erasmus Medical Centre and Trinity College Dublin.

Designing action plans

“This masterclass is going to be a fantastic opportunity for experienced HR professionals and managers to apply the latest academic thinking to design an action plan which works for their organisation,” says Dr Hewett. “In the face of demographic and economic changes, organisations need to think about how they can remain sustainable for the future, and that’s what we want to help them to do.”

The workshop will be delivered by Erasmus MC Rotterdam, RSM and Trinity College Dublin and has been funded by the EIT Health Campus education programme aiming to provide up-to-date knowledge, skills and attitudes to help turn the brightest learners into healthcare leaders and entrepreneurs to shape the future of Europe’s health.
