Associate Academic Director Platform Sustainable Value Creation

The Platform
How can research and education promote new methods of sustainable value creation in practice? Rotterdam School of Management has set up a platform to foster thought-leadership and excellence in sustainable value creation. The platform works closely with the industry to develop new concepts and identify best practices. The purpose of the Erasmus Platform for Sustainable Value Creation is to develop new insights through research (faculty and PhD students) and education (master students) in close collaboration with leading sustainable finance players in the industry and academia.

For the launch of the platform, the Rotterdam School of Management seeks an active associate academic director. The profile of the vacancy is:


  • Identify, establish links with and possibly establish collaboration with all relevant research across the Erasmus University Rotterdam, in Holland, Europe and around the World
  • Engage continuously with the Platform Partners about shared knowledge concerns which could be developed into research projects
  • Trigger and establish research projects for and with the Partners and others


  • Integrate the Partners into the current and possibly newly to be developed teaching programmes for Master students and Executive Education
  • Explore new teaching content and formats for current and future students ranging from Bachelors to Executive Education


  • Establish mostly online regular communications and get-togethers for the Advisory Board of the Platform to give the Platform the necessary strategic guidance from industry
  • Arrange preferably with clusters of Partners mutually relevant workshops to address shared concerns / interests
  • Organise an annual conference for all Partners and other interested parties


  • Establish and maintain the contents of the Platform’s website
  • Establish and maintain a social media feeder for the Platform
  • Produce and distribute an e-newsletter
  • Build a source of any and all relevant publications and communications related to sustainable value creation

We offer a dynamic working environment at the Finance Department of the Rotterdam School of Management. You will be part of the faculty and are encouraged to combine research and/or teaching with the coordination activities. The salary is competitive depending on experience and qualifications. See:
