Herbert Smorenburg (EMBA ’02) has spent close to 20 years developing a partnership-oriented approach to creating sustainable progress in the food industry. In the final presentation of the RSM Sustainability Day, he will encourage you to consider that the principles of partnership, dynamic and positive change, and vision are not only useful for bringing sustainability to business – they’re elemental in keeping yourself and your career healthy and fulfilling.

BIO

Herbert Smorenburg recently joined Schuttelaar & Partners as Strategic Advisor and works on projects in the area of food, nutrition and public-private partnerships. Previously, Herbert worked for 17 years with Unilever in product development and nutrition & health. His last positions were Nutrition and Health Director Europe and Director Unilever Health Institute Africa, for which he was based in Ghana and South Africa. Herbert has extensive experience in building bridges between social, political and/or economic developments and business interests and brings stakeholders on board with vision and passion. Herbert holds an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University Rotterdam) and a PhD in physics (Delft).
