Why does RSM require applicants applying for a Master or pre-master programme to submit their secondary school diploma?

We ask for your secondary school diploma for two reasons. The first being that it is good practice in the world of credential evaluation to always ask for the underlying diploma when evaluating an academic credential. This gives additional insight into the academic career of an applicant and can tell us more about the level of the bachelor diploma. The second reason has to do with fraud prevention. The more documents someone has to fabricate, the greater the chance that they will be discovered.  Students who completed their secondary school in the Netherlands (havo or vwo) do not need to submit these documents. They will be verified by DUO when you register in studielink.

Can I apply without the GMAT score?

All applicants, with the exception of students with a bachelor degree from a research university (WO) issued by a University in the Netherlands with a GPA of 7.0 or higher must submit a GMAT score before the application deadline; January 31st for the IM/CEMS programme, March 31st for the Finance & Investment - Advanced programme and May 15th for all other programmes, provided that the programmes have not reached capacity before the deadline. Students with a bachelor degree from a Dutch research university who do not meet the GPA requirement must also submit a GMAT score. The GMAT exemption does not apply to the Master in Management or the Pre-master programmes.

The minimum required GMAT score is 600 (for Finance & Investments Advanced 650).

You may submit your application without a GMAT score, however RSM must have the score no later than the application deadline that applies to the master programme you have applied for. For programmes with a limited capacity (i.e. Finance & Investments and Master in Management) you need to have submitted the GMAT score before the application deadline or before the programme reaches capacity (whichever occurs first).

Can I send in my application first and the results of my GMAT exam later?

Yes, you can submit your application first and complete your application package later with the results of your GMAT exam, however, please note that the RSM Admissions Office must receive the results of your GMAT exam (and all other applicable exams) no later than the application deadline for the programme you applied for or before the programme has reached maximum capacity (whichever occurs first). When filling in the on-line application form, indicate the date you plan to take the exam.

Keep in mind that without a complete application - including the results of all standardised tests, you will not be able to receive an offer of admission and no place in the programme will be reserved for you. The RSM Admissions Office can however, assess your academic background and provide you with feedback while waiting for the results of the GMAT.

Is anyone exempt from taking the GMAT?

All students with a bachelor degree obtained outside the Netherlands are required to submit a GMAT test score meeting the minimum requirements.

Students with a bachelor degree from a research university (WO) issued by a University in the Netherlands that have a GPA of 7.0 or higher are exempted from submitting a GMAT score. Students with a Dutch WO diploma who do not meet the GPA requirement must submit a GMAT score of 600 or higher. The GMAT exemption does not apply to the Master in Management or the pre-master programmes.

I have submitted my application but I have not received a confirmation email, did something go wrong?

Within two weeks after you have submitted your application form in OLAF, the RSM Admissions Office will let you know if your application is complete. Bear in mind that we receive a large number of applications towards the application deadline; therefore it may take longer than two weeks before you receive a confirmation e-mail. Only complete applications will be considered for admission. For this reason we urge that you do not wait until the last minute to submit your application. If you wait until the last minute, you will have no margin for error. If you apply early (at least 4 weeks before the deadline), some mistakes can still be corrected.
