Werner Euler

Werner Euler is responsible to expand Peterson and Control Union’s services around supply chains that require sustainable, sourcing solutions in the African region. He has also been expanding Peterson Control and Union’s business in South Africa as managing director of Control Union Certifications for seven years. He started with 14 organic clients, and now reaches 1,000 clients with more than 20 programmes. These are divided in four main categories: agriculture, food safety, social ethical, and organic. To reach the sustainable markets, the whole chain of production needs to be inspected and certified. Werner led the fusion of the certification office in Johannesburg with the inspection sister company in Durban. This implementation in 2016 meant the South African office could market an even stronger portfolio to its clients and now venture into new markets. Before working at Peterson and Control Union, Werner was a business analyst and development at Sasol Technology from 2007 until 2010. He completed a BSc in chemistry and physics at University College Utrecht with a minor in economics in 2005, and an MSc in energy resources and sustainability at the University of Utrecht in 2007.
