The Summit will start with an opening session at 5 pm followed by dinner on 30 June 2019 evening in the city of Rotterdam.

The full day of the Summit on 1 July 2019 will begin at 8:30 and end at 20:00 after a closing dinner. It will be a working day with introductory talks to set the stage for group discussions that will focus on developing actionable ideas or solutions.

                                      Form groups of 3 persons, discuss:
                                      a. Why are you here?
                                      b. What are your expectations?
                                      c. What will you contribute?
                                  3. A bonding exercise

    6:30 - 8:00 PM: Dinner  

  • Overview structure of the day

    1. The day has four building blocks (sessions) with structured roundtable discussions.
    2. Each session starts with a brief introductory talk on the topic to set the tone for the roundtable discussion.
    3. The roundtable discussions will be in pre-arranged group either mixed (sessions 1 and 2) or by stakeholder – deans, editors, association leaders, senior scholars (sessions 3 and 4).
    4. Report back on the major ideas from the roundtable discussions.

                                      b. What the anticipated barriers or resistance points?                             
                                      c. Ideas to overcome the strongest resistance; focus on both big ideas and small wins.

    10:50 – 12:00          Session 2: Visioning Business Research in 2030

                                      Roundtable discussion questions: 
                                      "Imagine" in 2030, 
                                          a. What type of research is being published?
                                          b. How are scholarly contributions being measured and rewarded?                           
                                          c. What kind of research success is being celebrated? 

    12:00 – 13:30          Lunch: Theme: Responsible Research Exemplars

    13:30 - 15:00           Session 3: Measuring Progress in Responsible Research

                                      Roundtable discussion questions: 
                                      "Imagine" in 2030, 
                                       a. Responsible research metrics
                                       b. Societal impact metrics                           

    15:00 – 15:30           Break

    15:30 – 17:00           Session 4: Navigating the Transition toward Responsible Research 

                                      Roundtable discussion questions: 
                                      a. Identify ideas for a pilot by the stakeholder group 
                                      b. Develop approaches to introduce the pilot idea to each stakeholder group
                                      c. Identify the advantage, benefits, or rewards of being “change leaders”
