Freelance writers wanted

The RSM Case Development Centre (CDC) is on the lookout for new freelance case writers to join our energetic team. The freelance case writers will work closely with the CDC Managing Editor to develop teaching cases for business management education.

Case studies are a common tool for learning and teaching. A teaching case is a neatly packaged snapshot of an actual situation. It presents a challenge faced by an organization and compels students to step into the shoes of the decision-maker and come up with solutions. A good case writer can explain a highly technical subject in a non-technical way and engage readers with a vivid story.

The RSM CDC is a platform for the development, innovation and dissemination of management education material. It is one of few organizations in Europe specialized in, and devoted to case development. CDC connects with interested parties and sets up collaborations for researching, writing, teaching and using management cases beyond their traditional business school environment. Cases developed by CDC have won major international case writing competition prizes and some are among the most popular management teaching material used by business schools and consulting firms worldwide.

The RSM CDC develops case studies in partnership with large companies (e.g. ABN AMRO, ING, Dow Chemicals, Siemens, SAP, Airbus, IBM, Philips, BP, Shell), smaller innovative start-ups (e.g. Fairphone, Enviu, Koppert Cress) and not-for-profit organizations (e.g. Blijdorp Rotterdam Zoo, Erasmus University). These cases, released with leading international case clearing houses such as Ivey Publishing and The Case Centre, are used in university classrooms, at executive training sessions, conferences, and leadership forums. Some cases are also adapted to popular articles published in mainstream media outlets like the Financial Times.
