Mandatory

Settling-in Day: 29 August 2016

In order to help you arrange all practicalities before the Official IBA Kick-off and the start of classes, the so-called Settling-In Day is organized. There are no classes or mandatory activities on this day, just so that you settle in your new room, arrange things with the City Hall or the bank. The International Office EUR organizes the so-called One Stop Shop, which is also taking place on this day. Basically, you can take care of all practical matters right on campus! The fourth edition of the HeartBeat festival is also taking place on this day. If you like, you can celebrate the start of the academic year in a festive manner!

 

Official Programme Kick-off: 30 August 2016

The Official Programme IBA Kick-off will take place on Tuesday 30 August 2016 and it is mandatory for all students starting with the IBA programme. During this event you will learn more about the programme, receive your course schedule, booklist, meet your mentor and fellow mentor group members, etc. 

The programme will start at 9:15hrs and activities are expected to last until 17:00hrs. The Kick-off will take place in Van der Goot building, room M1-12. The programme will consist of: 

  • Check-in in front of room M1-12
  • Presentations 
  • First mentor session and lunch 
  • Outdoor activity in Rotterdam

Eurakaweek 2016: 15 - 18 August 2016

Do you want to meet students from all faculties at Erasmus University Rotterdam? Do you want to discover Rotterdam and the university? Then join Eurekaweek 2016 – the official introduction activity for all new students! You will join a group of 10-15 students of your own study, which will be guided by two older students. These four days will introduce you to the new study, the city, and student life! The Eurekaweek is also very informative, because you get the opportunity to arrange a room or to open a student bank account, to name a few.

The theme of the Eurekaweek 2016 is ‘Your EURban Expedition. This theme represents a new stage in your life, in an upcoming city, with a lot of new friends and experiences. The Eurekaweek is the expedition to learn about your new student life!

ESN Introduction Days 2016: 21 - 23 August 2016

Twice per academic year, ESN Rotterdam organizes introduction days for international students of the different programmes at Erasmus University Rotterdam. ESN makes sure you get to know the best places in the city, and you’ll have the opportunity to meet a lot of the other international students in Rotterdam.

STAR IBA Freshmen Weekend 2016: 26 - 28 August 2016

The IBA Freshmen Weekend 2016 will take place in Renesse (Zeeland), close to the beach, between 26 and 28 August 2016.  This amazing weekend on the Dutch coast will provide you with a great opportunity to meet your fellow classmates, second year students, and finish your summer holidays well. The weekend includes a lot of fun activities and of course a bunch of amazing parties! The best part of the weekend? Creating unforgettable memories and friends for a lifetime!

Some general information : 

  • Registration will open mid-June.
  • We will travel together from Erasmus University to Renesse, where tents will be already set up for you. The exact time of departure will be provided in due course.
  • The registration fee for this weekend is €45 and it will cover transportation, accommodation, food and, of course, all the fun activities. Note that you will need to pay for the drinks yourself.

This event is organized by RSM STAR with the support of IBA Programme Management. IBA Programme Management highly recommends students to participate in this introduction activity. Mark your calendar!
