The only investment fund in the world to focus on the cure of a single disease has raised 3 million euros from Rabobank. The Dutch bank is the first large investor to invest in the ALS Investment Fund, a fund with a hyper-specialized investment profile: it invests only in companies that develop medications against the fatal muscle disease ALS. If the ALS fund is to succeed, large pharmaceutical companies must support it says Justin Jansen, Professor of Corporate Entrepreneurship at RSM: "'If they do not co-finance already, this needs to happen as soon as possible."
