What are business school rankings?

 

Business school rankings, like those published by the Financial Times, QS, and other organisations, aim to provide a snapshot of a school's performance in certain metrics compared to its competitors. They often consider a range of factors, including alumni salary increases, career progression, and the diversity of the student body. 

Some rankings place a greater emphasis on research reputation, while others focus more on student outcomes. The Financial Times, for instance, is well-known for its focus on post-graduation salary and career progression and collects data by surveying alumni three years after graduation. 

While rankings compare certain factors between institutions, they cannot capture all the elements that come together to create a quality business education. With this in mind, RSM selectively participates in a number of rankings each year based on the interests of our students, the relevance for each programme, and their connection to our strategic priorities – including our mission to be a force for positive change in the world.
