There are immense possibilities for specialising within marketing and within the programme, but first you complete the compulsory core courses that help you to understand the crucial role of marketing. Then you can choose from a diverse set of electives that give you the depth of knowledge to become a successful marketing professional.
It’s essential for marketing professionals to know how to use digital marketing and data analytics. Skills like data mining, SEO, and using social media are now much more important. In this programme, you can even specialise and differentiate yourself by choosing one of two elective tracks; brand and product management, or digital marketing and analytics.
Almost every graduate from this programme in 2018 (97 per cent of graduates) found a job within six months of graduation; that’s higher than the average employment rate for an MSc programme. Some go into the marketing and advertising industry; some work for consumer goods brands. They work as account managers, analysts, and marketing managers. More than half start their careers in large corporations, and a third in small-to-medium enterprises.

It is demanding and equally fulfilling. We have guest lectures and real-life applications, group work and assignments that keep us on our toes and we need to keep up, so it is very challenging. And yet I am always surprised by how much I am actually learning. There is a focus on understanding marketing research, and I definitely feel like I have gotten way better at this. This master programme is a very international environment, and there are very intelligent people in the group. You need to be independent and manage your own work. You are expected to know certain terms, how to write reports and how to study efficiently. We often use case studies and practice data analysis – this is great preparation for the thesis.
