Erik Roelofsen is a professor of international financial reporting and capital market communications at Department of Accounting and Control, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM).

J. (Hans) van Oosterhout (MSc Leiden University 1993, PhD, Erasmus University 2002) is a professor of Corporate Governance at the Department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM).

His expertise is on the ownership and governance strategies of different types of firms, such as firms with different types of owners at different stages of the firm life-cycle, for example. Current streams of research include:

• Making shareholder democracy work: The control (i.e. voting and activism) strategies of minority shareholders in publicly listed firms around the world.
• The ownership and governance strategies of family firms: Why and how family owners exit their firms.
• The early life-cycle ownership and governance strategies of new ventures and founder led firms.
• Rethinking ownership for the twenty-first century: Developing novel conceptions firm ownership for a complex and rapidly changing global environment.

Hans has published extensively in journals including the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, as well as various other academic and professional outlets. He has been a visiting professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and is a non-executive board member at RSM BV, the university-owned private company through which the Rotterdam School of Management offers its (Executive) MBA and Executive Education programs. Time permitting and contingent on his intellectual curiosity, Hans engages with firms, owners, as well as other stakeholders on strategic questions of ownership and governance in private enterprise organizations.

Sofya Isaakyan is an Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour at the Department of Organisation and Personnel Management, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. She received her Ph.D. in Organizational Behaviour from Maastricht University in 2018. Her research focuses on understanding employees' upward expression of ideas and concerns about work-related issues (i.e., voice behaviour) and the corresponding reactions by managers. Her second area of research focuses on how managers can effectively build their leadership capacity and leader identity. Her research has been published in top-tier academic outlets including the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Organizational Behaviour and Human Decision Processes. Sofya is the recipient of a prestigious Veni research grant by NWO in 2022. She is an editorial member for the Journal of Management Studies.  

Sofya teaches a wide range of topics on Leadership, Leadership Development, and Teams in Bachelor, Master, Full-time MBA, Executive MBA, and Executive Education programs at RSM.  

Before entering academia, Sofya worked as a consultant in the area of leadership development. Today she bridges the gap from science to practice by working with business leaders and other non-academic collaborators interested in co-developing evidence-based solutions to real-world problems and challenges. 

Dr. Koen Berden is Managing Director of Trade Impact BV, a consulting firm focusing on enhancing sustainability, gender-equality, innovation and inclusiveness in international trade and investment agreements. Koen is also lecturer at Erasmus University, Erasmus University – Rotterdam School of Management and College of Europe.

He was Executive Director for International Affairs at EFPIA (Brussels) from 2018 – 2023, responsible for coordinating humanitarian assistance for Ukraine, the US, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Turkish markets, EU’s international trade policy regarding pharmaceuticals and policies regarding COVID-19. He was Director of Outreach and Member of the Board of Directors at the World Trade Institute (Bern, Switzerland) from 2016 – 2018, responsible for the WTI project portfolio, strategic (academic) alliances, and the creation of short courses and training. From 2006 – 2015, Koen worked at Ecorys in various roles, including as Managing Director of Ecorys Netherlands, Chief Innovation Officer of the Ecorys Group and Senior Partner.

Koen has over 18 years of research, project and lecturing experience in the fields of trade, competitiveness, and transport economics – for example in carrying out (sustainable) impact assessments of Free Trade Agreements. He is fellow of the Transatlantic Policy Network (TPN), member of the Rotterdam Economic Council (REC), and member of the Studiegezelschap Economische Politiek (SEP) and Member of the Executive Board of the Women Economic Forum. Koen graduated cum laude at Erasmus University Rotterdam in international and financial economics and did his PhD in Economics at the Tinbergen Institute. He has been a lecturer in the Maritime Economics & Logistics programme since its inception in 2001.

With extensive sales experience and a deep understanding of the customer journey,Vasilis is passionate about assisting individuals in achieving their professional goals through education. He has amassed valuable expertise in the higher education sector, having worked with prominent education providers. Vasilis holds an Executive MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, along with an MSc in Business Economics from Erasmus University and a BA in Economics from the American College of Greece. In his leisure time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, and playing sports.

Caroline is the Recruitment and Admissions Manager for Executive MBA programs and enjoys assisting candidates in their MBA journey. She has nearly a decade of experience working within the Higher Education sector in international recruitment, and program development and management. She has an academic background in education policy and governance with a masters from the University of Cambridge and a bachelors in her home country of the United States.
