There is a gap between what business professors think and what managers do. Here and there, academics try to close the gap. The gap is often filled by theories that are not necessarily true even though they might sound good. For example, ideas such as agile, lean, scrum and canvas, there is as yet no sound scientific basis. "It's easier to set up a framework and sell it as something that works, if you don't have to prove it," says Prof. dr. Dirk van Dierendonck, professor of Human Resource Management and vice-dean of RSM.
