Annebeth Roor works at EY as a sustainability consultant and conducts PhD research at Rotterdam School of Management. She is conducting research on managing environmental and social impact in investment portfolios.

In this article, Annabeth discusses the following: The climate is crying out for a radical energy transition. Achieving this requires a solid long-term policy and consistency in implementation and communication. Recent crises, however, force the government to opt for short-term solutions that actually hinder the energy transition. Companies, on the other hand, are faced with a tight European deadline to start working on making their activities more sustainable and to report on it. National government measures that distract from the urgency do not help.
