Stranded on the Greek island Lesbos, thousands of asylum seekers, are living in inhumane and dangerous conditions in what should have been their sanctuary. Politics, flawed policies, and unrest in both Europe and other parts of the world are exacerbating the situation; and as the squalor, sexual violence and suicide attempts increase, the crisis is calling out for solutions to secure safety and security for the people caught in the line of inaction – now and in the future. What can stakeholders do together to rescue this ‘sinking boat’?
