Profile

Birgul Arslan is an Associate Professor of Innovation Strategy at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. She earned her Ph.D. in Strategic Management from HEC Paris, France.

Her research focuses on what drives success in interorganizational collaboration for new product development. She is interested in how organizations collaborate in the context of grand challenges such as the Ebola outbreak and antibacterial resistance.Her work has appeared in leading journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Journal of Management Studies.

Alongside her academic expertise, Birgul brings hands-on experience from her time in business intelligence consulting. She is an award-winning educator known for her engaging, high-impact learning experiences. In her executive programs, she helps leaders master corporate innovation, navigate emerging technologies, and apply design thinking to business challenges — always with a focus on practical application and strategic insight.
