Emanuel Ubert is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management in the Department of Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.

His research examines how organizations adapt to unexpected disruptions and uncertain futures. Normatively, it is motivated by the question of when and how climate change disruptions foster more sustainable and equitable societal transformations. Theoretically, his research engages with the Carnegie School, evolutionary theory, and design thinking. Empirically, it predominantly employs quantitative methods and draws on large panel datasets. 

Emanuel holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In a previous life, he worked as management consultant restructuring near-bankrupt companies, as a leveraged finance banker had a front-row seat to the 2007/08 financial crisis, and co-founded a cafe and a film production company.
