Madleen Meier-Barthold is an Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management at the Department of Organisation and Personnel Management, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. She obtained her doctoral degree from the University of Mannheim, Germany in 2023.

Her research centers on the realm of strategic people management, with a specific emphasis on understanding the signaling effects of an organization’s goals, policies, and practices on employees. She investigates how employees interpret, make sense of, and react to people management. Her research approach incorporates a wide range of state-of-the-art quantitative research methods from various disciplines.
