Ansgar Richter will join Frankfurt School of Finance & Management as Professor and Vice President Academic Affairs.

After four years of serving as Dean of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Prof Ansgar Richter has decided to step down from his role to join Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

As of 1 December 2023, Professor Richter will assume the role of Professor of Corporate Strategy, Organisation, and Governance, before beginning his role as Vice President Academic Affairs on 1 January 2024. As Vice President, he will be responsible for overseeing faculty development and providing academic leadership.

Prof. Richter joined RSM in 2019, just prior to the start of the global pandemic. During his time as dean, he guided the school through an unprecedented time in higher education, providing strategic leadership for both the pre- and post-experience areas of the school during the Corona crisis. Under his leadership, RSM developed its 2021-2025 Strategy and strengthened its position in research, education and engagement on a regional and global level.

In addition to his role as dean, he also held a professorship in Corporate Strategy, Organisation, and Governance. Prior to RSM, he served as Vice Dean of Research at EBS Business School, Subject Group Head at Liverpool Management School, and Dean at Surrey Business School in the UK. During his career, Professor Richter was a visiting scholar at Berkeley, Stanford, and INSEAD, and has taught at institutions in China and India.

To ensure continuity of operations during this transition, the Executive Boards of EUR and RSM have appointed Prof. Werner Brouwer as Acting Dean.

Professor Ansgar Richter has been serving as Dean of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, where he holds a professorship in Corporate Strategy, Organisation, and Governance. His research interests lie at the intersection of strategy, organisation, and governance, encompassing dynamic capabilities, organisational design, incentives, ownership and justice in organisations, and the strategy and structure of professional service firms.
