In the year in which we celebrate our 10th anniversary we invite you to our most engaging, unmissable conference yet

In the year in which we celebrate our 10th anniversary we invite you to our most engaging, unmissable conference yet. And, to make this year's event even more special, it will take place in the unique historical location of the ss Rotterdam.

We are thrilled to announce this year's keynote speakers are adventurer and storyteller Laura Killingbeck, who wrote the brilliant reflection on the Man or Bear debate that went viral, and Hafez Ismaili M’hamdi, an associate professor at the Department of Ethics, Health and Society at Maastricht University, vice-chairman of the Center for Ethics and Health and a councilor at the Council for Public Health & Society.

Laura Killingbeck’s “unpacking of what patriarchy means and how it impacts both men and women is one of the most clear and brilliant I have read” - Rebecca Solnit, (author of Men Explain Things to Me).

Details of our additional speakers, workshops, networking and other elements will be shared with you in the coming weeks and months, but our programme is shaped around pathways to inclusion, from the perspective of individuals and organisations as well as the socio-economic viewpoint.

Why this theme?

Diversity is measured in quantity. In the 10 years since our founder Professor Dianne Bevelander, imagined a world in which women have an equal share of power and influence, modest gains on gender diversity have been made. The public conversation around diversity, equity, and inclusion of female talent is now built upon a better understanding of gender and bias from the perspective of those negatively affected.

The public conversation has now evolved. When we speak of inclusion, we speak of including everyone, regardless of gender (identity), sexual orientation, ethnicity and nationality, and even educational, economic, or functional perspective. More importantly, for people and organisations, inclusion is no longer simply the end goal, it is also the means to better organisational performance and a sustainable, innovative, and prosperous society.

Join us in exploring the value and the pathways to inclusion.

Note:

This year you will build your personal conference programme using the ECWO Conference 2024 event app that will be available to all participants and speakers ahead of the event. We will share the full programme details in the coming weeks and months to enable you to plan.

Early Bird tickets are now available through Eventbrite.

More information

Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations (ECWO) is committed to fostering inclusion. Our founding purpose in 2014 was to empower women and to create a level playing field by building communities for organisational change. Today, ECWO has expanded its perspective to embrace a wider vision of a world of inclusive prosperity. Our new mission is to create a sense of belonging for everyone within organisations through diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), anchored in social safety. We strive for settings where everyone feels valued, respected and supported. We conduct research and produce evidence-led educational programmes, events, coaching, advocacy, and advisory services. We stay true to our roots, and we have evolved to recognise that achieving true inclusion and equity requires encompassing all, regardless of gender or identity.
