RSM ready to broaden professionals’ business perspectives and mindsets

Professionals who want to take the next step in their career or improve their skills and knowledge can benefit from a renewed portfolio of executive education programmes at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM).

There are several new programmes offered in 2019 in which professionals learn new perspectives – from academic research, their peers and themselves – on interesting topics such as sustainable finance, neuromarketing, and philosophy in business.

“We notice a growing need for strategies to increase gender and cultural diversity within organisations,” says Prof. Frank Hartmann, Dean of RSM Executive Education, referring to programmes that can change people’s mindsets towards their organisations, their work, their customers, society and themselves.

Technological revolution

Dean Frank Hartmann added that the technological revolution raises new challenges as well. The new Diploma Programme in Digital Transformation consists of four modules which can also be taken as separate courses to drive digital transformation in your organisation: Digital Analytics, Digital Strategy, Digital Innovation, and Digital Leadership and Change.

“What sort of leader is needed in a business when information is no longer exclusively available to management? How do managers deal with transparency, public responsibility and privacy? These are the kind of questions that professionals can explore with our faculty members,” he said.

“We live in a highly connected world that is filled with digital technologies, social media, mobile devices, IoT, smart cities, and connected cars,” says Ting Li, endowed professor of digital business at RSM. “This has created new opportunities across industries as companies innovate to meet changes in consumer demand, and has given rise to new business challenges.”

Practical application

Dean Frank Hartmann said RSM keeps academic knowledge with practical application in mind. “This practical and factual approach defines RSM, Erasmus University and Rotterdam as a city. We take action without getting lost in fancy words and concepts.”

RSM Executive Education’s broad portfolio of open programmes offers dynamic learning environments for professionals looking for new skills and knowledge. And with its customised programmes, organisations have flexible options for teams as RSM can tailor the programme to the company’s challenges.

The new catalogue of corporate education programmes at RSM Executive Education contains a complete and current overview of RSM’s open programmes. There are also several examples of customised solutions RSM has been offering to companies in the past few years, including tailored, in-company programmes for TBI Holdings, ING, and Deutsche Bahn.
