A special message from Dean Ansgar Richter about the coronavirus and what it means for the RSM alumni community.

More information

Dear RSM alumni,

In these challenging times, it is more important than ever to feel a part of a community, even if we are now communicating virtually these days. So, I wanted to take the opportunity to remind you that as our alumni you are part of our community of over 40,000 global graduates, and to let you know that we are thinking of you.

One of the things that I have noticed during these times of virtual working is the way in which many friends and former colleagues have been reaching out to check in and connect, reminding me that the value of a strong network is greater than ever. This is a time to remember that it is important to reach out to those lifelong friends that you made while you were studying.

Do check in, connect and maybe even share some helpful tips. We have a wealth of expertise and resources within our incredible alumni community – please make use of it. We also have online courses available free of charge on our website, and I invite you to take a look at them.

In the School, we’re currently working to move all our education online, for all programmes. We will resume classes online in the week beginning 30 March. Graduation of our MBA and EMBA graduands and the International Management and CEMS Master graduands have been postponed – like all alumni events. Postponement is no cancellation, and we will reschedule as soon as possible. We will keep on communicating, and we look forward to the times when we can meet with you again in person.

On a personal note - I’ve been here since November 2019. In the past few months, I’ve come to know the students, alumni and staff at RSM as a wonderful community. I see the resilience, the desire to make the most of the current situation. Together, we will get through this crisis, having learnt and sharing innovative ways of teaching and learning for the future – and thus be a better us. Thank you for being part of our community. Stay safe, stay healthy – and stay connected.
