Elective Registration

  • Basic Rules

    As per the MSc Examination Regulations,

    1. You are required to complete three electives for your one-year MSc programme,
    2. You may take only one elective per block.
    3. At least two of the three electives must be a Master Programme Elective (MPE). This may be in the form of:
    • 2 Master Programme Electives (MPEs) + 1 Master Free Elective (MFE), or
    • 3 Master Programme Electives (MPEs) (the 3rd MPE to have a grade processed in OSIRIS will be registered as an MFE)

    Elective Registration Process

    The MSc Elective Registration process consists of two rounds of preference ranking and three switch weeks. Depending on your study situation, you may participate in all or some parts of the below elective registration process. Check out the videos below and carefully review the Elective Registration Process document once we have made this available.

    Instructions for CEMS/ERIM/Incoming exchange students

    Below is an overview of key dates of the elective registration process in 2020:

    1. Register your study situation:  starting from Monday 23 November 2020
    2. Round 1: Monday 7 December 2020, 08:30 through Thrusday 10 December 2020, 23:59. 
    3. Round 2: Monday 11 January 2021, 08:30 through Thursday 14 January 2021, 23:59.
    4. Switch weeks:
    • Before Block 3: 22 - 27 January 2021
    • Before Block 4: 8 - 12 March 2021
    • Before Block 5: 3 -7 May 2021

    Note that you can switch your electives in any available block in one of the switch weeks. For example, in the switch week before block 3, you can switch your electives of block 3/4/5.
    The course registrations will be processed per block, after each switch week and prior to the start of the block.

  • The majority of master programmes will be holding elective information sessions in the weeks prior to the elective registration (end of October - Mid-November). If you are interested in hearing about the electives on offer this year, we encourage you to attend any of these informational sessions. Please see the schedule below for dates and times. No registration is necessary.
