Mandatory

Settling-in day: Monday 2 September 2019

In order to help you arrange all practicalities before the Official IBA Kick-off and the start of classes, the so-called Settling-In Day is organized. There are no classes or mandatory activities on this day, just so that you settle in your new room, arrange things with the City Hall or the bank. The International Office EUR organizes the so-called One Stop Shop, which is also taking place on this day. Basically, you can take care of all practical matters right on campus! Kick-off IBA B1: Tuesday 3 September 2019

The Official Programme IBA Kick-off will take place on Tuesday 3 September 2019 and it is mandatory for all students starting with the IBA programme. During this event you will learn more about the programme, receive your course schedule, booklist, meet your mentor and fellow mentor group members, etc.

Eurekaweek 2019: 19th till the 22nd of August

Do you want to meet students from all faculties at Erasmus University Rotterdam? Are you ready to discover Rotterdam and the Erasmus University Rotterdam? Then sign up for the Eurekaweek 2019 – the official introduction week for all new students! You will join a group of 12-15 students of your own studies, which will be guided by two senior students. In this week, you will be encouraged to discover the city of Rotterdam, its student life and the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

For all international students the week will start one day earlier; Sunday the 18th of August. This day is especially organized to get acquainted with the Dutch habits. Furthermore, you can go island hopping between various convenient organizations and businesses which help you get started with Rotterdam’s student life. For example, you will get the opportunity to arrange a room or a bike and to open a student bank account.

This year’s theme is: ‘Start Your AdventEUR’. With our theme, we want to emphasize the start of a new adventure. For some students this means moving to another city, for others beginning at the university or starting with a new studies. In short, the Eurekaweek means a start of a new adventure for every participant.

ESN Summer Introduction Days: 25-27 August 2019

End of August 2019, ESN-Rotterdam will organize the ESN Introduction Days. These days are focused on meeting over 300 other international students and getting to know Rotterdam. This event will be THREE days filled with great activities to make you familiar with Rotterdam and its amazing student life. The memories you make and the friends you’ll find will stay with you for a lifetime!

 

 

Some activities this year will include:

  • Unlimited pancakes on a boat tour
  • Lunch all three days
  • Dinner all three days
  • Beer cantus
  • Crazy88
  • Language workshop
  • Closing Party
  • And more!

STAR IBA Freshmen Weekend 2019: 30 August and 1 September 2019

The STAR IBA Freshmen Weekend is back! Between 30 August and 1 September 2019, the STAR IBA Freshmen Weekend is returning with a whole bunch of exciting activities lined up for all of you. Taking place in Renesse (Zeeland), you will be spending a whole weekend on the Dutch coast to kick off your first year right! Meeting fellow classmates, second year students, and partying with all of them is part of the package in this amazing weekend, not to forget the unforgettable memories and lifetime friends you’ll make! Are you up for some fun to end your summer holidays in the best way?

Some general information:

  • Registration is open
  • Transportation is provided, and we will be traveling together from Erasmus University to Renesse, where tents will be already set up for you.
  • More information regarding the exact itinerary will be provided soon
  • The registration fee for this weekend is €49. This covers transportation, accommodation, food, and of course, the fun! Note that you will need to pay for drinks yourself.
  • For the people staying in Xior or the Hatta building, moving in has been taken into consideration and will not overlap with the weekend.
