The Materials Handling day took place last week. There were various examples of robotisation in warehouses. René de Koster of RSM is amazed at the speed of development in this area. "If you asked me last year how long it will take for robots to get items out of a bin, I would have said ten years. But it goes a lot faster. The computing power has increased enormously. It is mainly exciting to see what will happen in the software area, because mechanically it is already possible."
