Research conducted by PhD candidate Timo van Balen and Associate Professor Murat Tarakci was mentioned in an article. Their research, called "Do Disruptive Visions Pay Off? The Impact of Disruptive Entrepreneurial Visions on Venture Funding", claims it’s better to be humble about your startup’s potential, and that overly bombastic communications of its disruptive vision may damage an entrepreneur’s ability to attract large investments. The research found that disruptive visions increase the probability of investments by 22 percent, but it reduces these investments by 24 percent.
