Dirk Schoenmaker of RSM has commented on the corona crisis hit on SMEs. Regarding ECB's to support the SME sector he stated "I think it is right that you make money available to banks under the condition that they pass it on to SMEs. But I immediately say: watch out that you are not going to increase the debts. Governments in particular need to jump into this gap created by the corona outbreak, with programs to cancel interest charges or suspend debt repayment, for example. Companies are seeing their cash flow dry up, a government has to respond to that. "
