This article reports about how the population of the Dutch city Almelo increased their volunteer work during Corona lockdown. Even though this city had an outbreak of solidarity, research of the RSM concluded that there was inadequate assistance from volunteers during the corona lockdown. This research was conducted by Prof. Lucas Meijs, Professor of Volunteering, Civil Society and Businesses and Professor of Strategic Philanthropy. He gives advice on how we can support professionals in reducing demand shyness.
