The increase in popularity of electric cars, could potentially cause a black-out in the electricity system if all cars are being charged at the same time in a neighborhood. Therefore, Konstantina Valogianni developed an algorithm to prevent this and instruct the car of the best time to start charging, also potentially decreasing the electricity bill. Utrecht is the first city to put the idea into practice.
