RSM International Office offers/supports more and several opportunities to build international networks and experiences while you are based in Rotterdam:

RSM Exchange Ambassadors

Do you want to experience an exchange at home? Become one of our Exchange Ambassadors!

Our visiting exchange students particpate in respectively our Bachelor and Master exchange programmes.

Imagine you are the one going to a different county and there is someone who can help you prior to arrival, but more important once arrived, he/she helps you with finding your way on campus and in Rotterdam. An exchange is always very challenging, think of all preparations (visa, finding accommodation, travelling) and to find your way in the university abroad. For our visiting exchange students, you can make the difference by becoming an Exchange Ambasador.

The International Office is always looking for RSM bachelor or master students who would like to become one.

  • You build up your international network by (lifelong) friendships all over the world;
  • Optimal preparation if you are aiming for an exchange or internship abroad yourself;
  • Become more international minded and get more understanding of other cultures;
  • Based on our experiences with you as an Exchange Ambassador, priority may be given at selection for an exchange abroad;
  • You are awarded with a certificate at the end of your successful ambassadorship;
  • On request, the International Office can be your reference for future internships/jobs/ board positions.

  • You will be assigned to a group of exchange students coming from our international partner schools. Depending on the number of available exchange ambassadors the group size may differ from 5 to a maximum of 12 international students.
  • Prior to their arrival in Rotterdam, we appreciate your support in contacting them, either by a (group) email, whatsapp, online meeting or whatever tool you think can be used to contact them.
  • During this first contact you can help us by preparing these exchange students on what to expect upon arrival in Rotterdam. Most of the time, these preparations are practical related (use of public transport, best way to travel to their accommodation, opening times of supermarkets, but maybe also where to find the nicest spots to visit in Rotterdam or any help to find their way on campus).
  • Once exchange students are settled down, your help will be less needed, although regular contact or personal meetings (diner, drinks) are still very much appreciated.
  • Your presence is required during the introduction activities we are organising for them.

  • For our Fall terms (September - December) we recruit students early June. Selection end of July.
  • For our Spring terms (January - May) we recruite students end of October. Selection in November.

Then these are the next steps:

  • Send an email of interest to Ms. Ellen Vermeulen, Programme Manager incoming BSc/MSc exchange students, Email: vermeulen@rsm.nl Do not forget to indicate in this email for which period you would like to apply (Fall or Spring) and your level of studies at the time of participation (Bachelor or Master).
  • Upon receipt of your interest, you will be provided with an application form.
  • Upon completion of your application form before the given deadline, you will be invited for a short interview.
