We delved into research and conversations on sustainable development, inner development and responsible management education of the future. Academics, staff members, students and stakeholders collaborated with intention for sparking positive change. Participants maximized the opportunity for personal development and advanced collective impact during this high-energy interactive 2-day event.
Themes to drive positive change:
Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University was pleased to host the PRME Chapter France-Benelux annual conference on 13-14 October at (RSM) Erasmus University Rotterdam campus.
The 2-day event offered an excellent opportunity for students, sustainability representatives of schools and stakeholders to combine forces, ideas and share experiences. It also provided great potential to create synergies and future collaborations in terms of teaching methods, programs, research projects, campus activities, operations and community outreach.
Participants were encouraged to submit a proposal to present their (school’s) sustainability projects and initiatives as they relate to the four tracks of this event. Proposals were received in the areas of sustainability education, research, campus operations and community outreach, or intersectional). Thank you for your submissions. We enjoyed inspirational and lively presentations.
This event welcomed students, academics, professional staff members, and related stakeholders who are interested in promoting sustainable development and responsible management in higher education (from France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxemburg) .

Water is a major element of life of Rotterdam residents. We welcomed meeting participants to catch fresh air with us on this water experience; taking a Water Taxi ride from the Erasmus University Rotterdam pier to Wilhelmenakade near Hotel New York.
A short walking tour of Wilhemakade and down to our special dinner, drinks and networking space in the historic Bakboord of FoodHallen Rotterdam.
After dinner time was allowed for guided tours of the kade, exploration of the Global Center for Adaptation, Wikkelboats and Hotel New York to name a few.
A water taxi then took participants from Hotel New York back to the city center, close to hotel destinations.

It tends to rain a good deal in Rotterdam. Guests were advised to bring a rain coat, umbrella optional. We celebrated beautiful autumn sunshine in coolish temperatures in a range of 17-10C.

The PRME World Tour Research Paper Development Program is a partnership between PRME and two of the world’s leading international journals in the responsible management and business-in-society fields, Business & Society and Journal of Business Ethics, with the support of colleagues working with a number of other journals. Our Chapter is pleased to co-host this workshop as part of this year’s annual chapter meeting, organized in collaboration with Scott Taylor (Development Editor, Journal of Business Ethics) and Frank de Bakker (Co-Editor, Business & Society).
The central idea is to provide a different kind of support to scholars in bringing research to publication, as part of the fields’ commitment to relevant and timely research insights that advance responsible management and sustainable development around the world. Its driving purpose is to move further towards equality of access and voice in our journals through recognising and developing under-represented themes, regional voices, and epistemologies/ontologies.
