On Friday 10 February 2017, the central heating will be turned down by 1 °C all across the Woudestein Campus. This is the sixth time Erasmus University Rotterdam is taking part in the Warm Sweater Day: a nation-wide one-day drive to save energy and reduce our collective carbon footprint. To stay comfortable in your office, lecture hall or meeting space, it is recommended to dress up warmly.

Around that day, the Erasmus Sustainability Hub (ESH) will initiate a Warm Sweater Week with more actions and events:

February 6 - 10: Collection of sweaters on Campus, that will be donated to refugees

& people in need through Thriftshop “Het Goed” in Schiedam. A container for dropping off old sweaters will be on campus. Among all student donors, “Het Goed” will raffle five prizes.

Location: Theil Hall on 6, 7 & 10 February and the ESH (Hatta building) on 8 & 9 February.

7 February from 5pm to 7pm: Talk & Discussion (in Dutch) with GreenChoice Marketing Manager Eddy Carree. Every year, GreenChoice initiates the Warm Sweater Day together with the Dutch Climate Alliance. Eddy Carree will talk about the impact of the Warm Sweater Day, the idea behind it, and what role students can play in the global warming issue.

Location: ESH with free drinks & snacks, and will finish with more drinks in nextdoor’s In de Smitse.

10 February all day: Official Warm Sweater Day. Official handing over of donations to “Het Goed”, free hot tea around campus for those wearing a warm sweater and another prize game!
