Introduction

The Associate Director (AD) is the operational lead of RSM’s full-time MBA programme and together with the Academic Director of the programme responsible for all aspects of the programme’s success.   

Job description

In the first place, the AD is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the full-time MBA programme. They lead a team of content planners and programme managers. The AD also devises and implements an annual operating plan, which includes a financial budget. 

In addition to the direct responsibility for the daily operations, the AD works closely with the Academic Director of the full-time MBA programme and shares responsibility for all other aspects of programme success. These aspects include student satisfaction, mission alignment (impact), financial performance, and programme reputation.

To this end, the AD engages with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders along the MBA value-chain to ensure the best possible student journey and to promote continuous improvements to the programme. These internal stakeholders include service teams like: Registrar’s Office, Facilities, IT, HR, Legal, Marketing, Sales & Admissions, Corporate & Alumni Relations, and Career Services.

Finally, the AD serves as a permanent member of the MBA Programme Council that safeguards the academic quality of all MBA programmes and works with other ADs (MBA degrees and Open/Customised Programmes) to create synergies and align operations. In this capacity, the AD is the escalation point for all student- and faculty-related issues related to the full-time MBA programme.

Job requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • MSc or MBA degree
  • Preferably a minimum of five years of experience in a similar position in an international academic environment
  • At least five years' experience in leading international teams in a dynamic and demanding environment
  • Proven experience in complex stakeholder management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, including public speaking
  • Understanding of the variety of learning methodologies and strategies for post-graduate education
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proven track record in improving processes
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making
  • Flexible orientation and willingness to work outside normal working hours when the programme requires
  • Willingness to travel abroad
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse body of student, faculty and staff

Department

The Associate Director (AD) Full-time MBA leads a team of five programme managers and content planners. The AD furthermore forms a team with their peers, the Associate Directors for the other MBA programmes, open enrolment and custom made company programmes. In total the Delivery and Execution department consists of 30 staff members.
