For 55 years, RSM has championed the belief that business education must serve as a powerful force for good. As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to ensuring that the most capable minds can join our community, challenge conventions, and lead with purpose.

 

Grand challenges need a new generation of leaders

From economic instability to climate change, the world is full of so-called “wicked problems” – intractable challenges where solutions require creative, systemic, and entrepreneurial thinking.

Solving these problems requires a new approach, and more than ever, it requires the brightest minds in our classrooms.

But, the most talented students don't always have a chance

For many exceptional young minds in the Netherlands and across the globe, the cost of studying abroad or pursuing higher education remains an insurmountable barrier. 

By removing financial pressure, we ensure that the most promising students can join the RSM community, bring their unique perspectives to our classrooms, and drive real-world impact.

Targeted support to amplify student impact

Our scholarship funds selection processes puts particular emphasis on students who demonstrate the imagination, determination, and expertise to make a real and lasting positive impact – whether locally, nationally, or globally.

Your investment in students like Arina, Sharleen, Leanne, Yamen, and Mira will enable them to make a positive impact on the world now, and into the future. Through our partnership with the Erasmus Trustfonds, 100% of your donation is securely managed and directly allocated to student support.

I met people I genuinely respect within weeks of arriving, and the environment has pushed me in ways I didn't anticipate.

Who can your donation support?

The impact of your generosity is best told by the students whose lives have been transformed by alumni support.

Arina (Moldova)

Studying abroad was a major step for my family. The scholarship relieved the constant financial pressure of tuition fees, allowing me to fully focus on my studies and build my startup, which focuses on sustainable cosmetics. I want to be a voice, not an echo. This community inspired me to one day give back to the same fund that supported me.

Yamen (Syria)

The scholarship reduced the financial pressure of studying abroad, but the network meant even more. My mentors supported me personally, teaching me to trust the process. My long-term goal is to use what I've learned at RSM to create economic opportunities and support local development back in Syria.

Sharleen (Netherlands)

I honestly wouldn’t have been able to study here without this support. It has enabled me to focus on my studies and build my CV instead of worrying about finances. I can say yes to opportunities, dive deeper into my interests, and actually be present as a student, rather than just surviving the term.

Leanne (France)

Financially, this scholarship removed immense pressure while I was working to pay my own rent. Beyond that, having an active entrepreneur as a mentor has been incredibly inspiring. RSM has shown me how powerful the right environment and encouragement can be in shaping someone's path.

Mira (Hungary)

Starting my studies in Rotterdam as a Hungarian student has been the most transformative experience of my life. The fund welcomed me into a unique entrepreneurial ecosystem that embraced my creativity from day one. It shapes not just how I study, but who I am becoming.

More than just money

For RSM's scholarship recipients, we know that funds or access alone aren't always enough. That's why several of our scholarship programmes match recipients with mentors like Nicholas. A previous recipient himself, he's now a donor and mentor in the Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship. 

 

For students like Aleksander, this makes a difference: “They are not just people to ask when you are looking for a job.” he says. “They're an active part of your academic journey, giving tips on everything from making friends and finding good bars to what type of organisations your first job should be in.”

Your questions answered

Yes. In partnership with the Erasmus Trustfonds, which holds official ANBI (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling) status in the Netherlands, donations may be tax-deductible depending on your country of residence:

  • The Netherlands: Due to the ANBI status of the Erasmus Trustfonds, a donation to RSM is tax deductible for Dutch taxpayers. If you choose to support our students with a periodic donation agreement (committing to €550 per year for 5 years), your gift is fully tax-deductible from your taxable income with no threshold limit.
  • Donors from other countries may also be able to take advantage of tax benefits. Please consult your local tax authority for rules and regulations regarding international giving, or reach out to us at alumni@rsm.nl

Absolutely! A monthly donation (for example €5 per month) helps to maintain stability for our funds and enables us to make future plans. Regular  support ensures that we can guarantee long-term funding stability for our scholarship students throughout their academic journeys.

100% of your donation is securely received and managed by the Erasmus Trustfonds and is directly allocated to RSM student scholarships. Neither RSM nor the Trustfonds deducts administrative fees. Please note that standard fees are charged by our donation and payment providers; however, you can choose to opt-in to cover the transaction fee at checkout.

Absolutely. While the €55 gift is a symbolic amount to mark our 55th anniversary, we warmly welcome larger contributions. You can choose to give €110 (double impact), €550, or a custom amount of your choosing on the giving form.
