Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) is pleased to announce that Dr Mirko Benischke, associate professor of Global Strategy, has been appointed as RSM dean of education.

Dr Benischke has been serving as interim dean of education since April 2025, and RSM is grateful for the commitment and energy he has brought to the role during this period. His leadership over the past months has been invaluable in shaping RSM’s education vision and in guiding our education portfolio.

“Education is at the heart of RSM’s impact,” explains Dr Benischke. As the new dean of education, Dr Benischke aims to build on the foundation of shared community at RSM, thereby fostering co-creation among students, faculty and staff.

When asked about  taking on this role at such a pivotal time in the school, he explained, “Over the past months, I have seen the strength of our community when we come together around a shared vision for educational excellence at RSM. I look forward to working with colleagues and students to shape an environment that empowers students to grow intellectually, professionally and personally.”

RSM Dean, Prof. Aukje Hassoldt: “The RSM executive board and I are confident that Mirko is the right person to lead RSM’s education strategy forward. As dean of education, he will play a key role in shaping the school’s future by overseeing the development and implementation of our education strategy, driving the international positioning of our degree portfolio, ensuring alignment with market trends and societal needs, and fostering a culture of academic excellence and innovation across our programmes.”

About Dr Mirko Benischke

Dr Benischke is an associate professor in RSM’s department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship. Prior to his appointment as dean of education, Dr Benischke served as dean of engagement, where he played an essential role in strengthening connections between RSM’s external stakeholders and its internal community of faculty, students and staff.
