Do consumers want to pay for the premium services of one web store? Amazon tested the waters in the retail landscape with Prime a few years ago. Meanwhile, the first Dutch e-commerce companies have launched similar subscriptions. What does this 'exclusive membership' mean for the loyalty of online customers, which is often considered non-existent? "You can actually come up with a subscription for every product. I think that many retailers still have a limited way of thinking about the possibilities in the market" comments retail expert Cor Molenaar of RSM.
