The ABP Scientific Committee on Sustainable Investment Policy advises the ABP to stop investing in companies that emit a lot of CO2 and, moreover, do not have ambitious sustainability plans. Dirk Schoenmaker, chair of the committee and professor of Sustainable Finance at RSM states: “As an investor, ABP bears a great responsibility for the energy transition. We advise ABP to stop investing in companies with insufficiently ambitious sustainability plans. In addition, as an influential shareholder, ABP should exert maximum influence on companies that do show ambition, to help them reduce CO2 emissions.”
