Erasmus Centre for entrepreneurship is quoted.

The Netherlands - with subsidies and angel investors - has a promising ecosystem for companies that are just starting up but the growth to a scale-up is less successful.

"McKinsey consultants noted last year that the share of start-ups in the Netherlands that manage to grow into a scale-up is significantly smaller than in other EU countries. The success rate is even declining, the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship previously noted."
