Share your valuable experience – become a student ambassador for RSM

Do you enjoy meeting new people and telling them about your student life? Are you willing to share information about your experience as a Master student this upcoming year?

If the answer is yes, then we are looking for you!

The Recruitment & Admissions Office at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM), provides an exciting opportunity to a group of 20-25 MSc students to be hired as Master (MSc) Ambassadors to share their RSM experiences with prospective students.

Please find some of the planned activities below. This can give you a better idea of the kind of ambassador-related activities and the time-commitments that they involve. If you apply to be an Ambassador, it is important that you will be available throughout the year for all the activities presented below:

  • A Master Ambassador photoshoot (early September 2020, exact date to be determined) - only for those who will be in Rotterdam
  • An online Master Ambassador training session (early September 2020, exact date to be determined)
  • Master Graduation ceremony (October 2020, exact date to be determined)
  • (Online) Fall Master Open Day (28 November 2020, 9:00-17:00 h)
  • Spring Master Open Day (23 March 2021, 16:00-21:30 h)
  • An average of 5 hours per month communicating on Unibuddy from September 2020 to September 2021
  • Student for a Day and virtual information sessions from September 2020 to July 2021
  • “Call action” - buddy for accepted students: Approx. 5 hours per month from November 2020 to September 2021 (mainly on WhatsApp)
  • Training sessions during the spring and fall semester – not reimbursed
  • Other recruitment activities such as newsletter articles (on request)

* the hours that you work as an ambassador will have a compensation of approx.  €9,00 net per hour

What are we looking for in an Ambassador?

  • You must be an enrolled RSM Master or Premaster student on 1 September 2020.
  • You are available for the entire academic year 2020-2021.
  • You are enthusiastic and have good social skills.
  • You are willing to communicate with prospective students via WhatsApp and our digital peer-to-peer platform, Unibuddy. This means you may have to spend approximately 15 min a day on Unibuddy, even during a busy period. Please note that your picture will be displayed on the Unibuddy page.
  • You are not shy in approaching prospective students to offer them information at the open days.
  • You are responsible and reliable when you carry out your tasks.
  • You have no problem speaking to large groups of people and holding presentations.
  • You are willing to respond to short-notice requests about campus tours and school visits.
  • You respond quickly to e-mails and are well-organised.
  • You are willing to prioritise Ambassador work over other extracurricular activities/side-jobs that you undertake.
  • Since we need to arrange a contract for you, you must be in the possession of a Burgerservicenummer (BSN) for the entire year 2020-2021 (which means registering your address with the municipality) and you must acquire a Dutch basic health insurance which is required by Dutch law if you have a working contract. You have to make the arrangements for the insurance yourself.

Note: If you are joining the MSc International Management-CEMS programme, you can still apply for this position. For example if your exchange is in the fall, you can apply for the ambassador position for the spring semester.
