Members of the Sustainable RSM 2016-2017 committees at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) engaged in a team ice-breaker event on Wednesday 12 October. During this Sustainable RSM autumn leadership meeting, the 32 new committee members got better acquainted with team members and were introduced to all sustainable RSM committees. Participants discussed focal points of committee work in either research or event-design projects along with common agenda-setting for the year.

Following a successful selection process in September 2016, nine Sustainable RSM committees have been formed; comprised of highly-motivated students from a variety of RSM master and bachelor programmes.

The 2016-2017 Sustainable RSM committees are:

  • Careers in Sustainability Panel Discussion Team
  • Integrated Reporting Seminar Planning Group
  • KPMG-RSM Master Sustainability Thesis Award Selection Committee
  • Responsible Management Education Advocacy Team
  • RSM Sustainability Forum 2017 – Planning and Communication Teams
  • Sustainable City Festivals Research Team
  • Sustainable Fashion Committee
  • Sustainable Sales Operations Team
  • Sustainable Water Management Research Team

Ready to make their mark

In an informal setting, the students discussed sustainable values, outlined what each committee will focus on for the year and ‘why’ it matters to them, and the perceived value for RSM students. The diversity of topics surfaced some bold ambitions for sustainable outcomes.

Following introductions, the structure was relaxed with a light-hearted ice-breaker game, generating a lively atmosphere and allowing for committees to mingle and share backgrounds, ideas and inspiration.

Updates and upcoming events will be posted RSM sustainability news and Facebook. People who are keen to become involved with Sustainable RSM, want to take sustainability action or have suggestions can contact Sustainable RSM directly.
